A study of faint young open clusters as tracers of spiral features in our Galaxy. III - Collinder 97 (OCl 506) Photoelectric and photographic photometry of twenty-nine stars was donein the field of the open cluster Collinder 97 (OCl 506). Of these stars,24 have been found to be possible members. There is apparently nointerstellar extinction in the direction of this cluster, which is inthe constellation of Mon: its E(B-V) = 0.0 mag. This cluster is situatedat a distance of 630 + or - 10 pc, which is well within the local arm ofthe Galaxy. The age of this cluster is in the range 100-590 Myr, whichputs it in an older age group. Thus, it cannot be specificallyconsidered as a spiral-arm tracer in the study of the Galaxy.
| Catalog of BV magnitudes and spectral classes of 6000 stars The present catalog, compiled at the Abastumani Observatory, contains BVmagnitudes and spectral classes of about 6000 stars up to V(lim) = 13.0min five circular areas of 18 sq deg located near the salactic-equatorplane. The catalog is intended for star-statistics studies ofstar-formation regions.
