The young eclipsing binary EK Cephei
New photoelectric (UBVR) observations of the young binary EK Cep areobtained. The orbital period is improved (P = 4.427 7954d). Newphotometric elements are determined by Lavrov's direct method. The ideathat the cool secondary star has color excesses is confirmed. Theresults of UBVR photometry of stars in the binary neighborhood aregiven. The system is not associated with any star group. The period ofthe periastron advance for the moderately eccentric orbits is calculated(4200 +/- 200 yr), and difficulties of the theoretical interpretation ofthis result are stated.
